Hiroshima Day, Monday 6th August

As usual, we are organising a vigil to mark Hiroshima Day, the anniversary of the destruction of the Japanese city of Hiroshima by atomic bomb in 1945.

This year, we will be holding the vigil at Burslem Cenotaph, Swan Square, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, ST6 2AA from 5.30 to 6.30 pm.

We will be meeting up in the CND Peace Centre in Burslem School of Art from 5.00 pm, and walking the short distance to the Cenotaph at 5.30.  After the vigil, refreshments will be available in the Peace Centre from 6.30 to 7.00.  Parking will be available in the car park at the rear of Burslem School of Art.

The Peace Centre is located on the Ground Floor of Burslem School of Art, Queen Street, Burslem town centre, ST6 3EJ.  For the car park, turn off Waterloo Road into Cleveland Street by the snooker hall, and see the car park entrance ahead of you at the end of Cleveland Street.  Alternatively, turn into Queen Street from Waterloo Road, take the first left (Bournes Bank), and see the car park entrance on your right.  From the car park, you can enter the School of Art by the rear door, and go up by the stairs or in the lift to the Ground Floor (Floor 0).
